Kudos for the help on the Yard Sale from donation of storage unit by C. J. Ramey
to members that helped.
A special thanks to donation of the wood splitter by Randy Hughes andthe sale by Charles Dial to the Disabled American Veterans, that brought in $650 to the Detachment.
The Raffle for the BBQ grill will be drawn on Saturday July 3rd.

NC state Meeting Report:
Explained the status of the MC League Dept. of NC with NCDMV for a MC League Tag.
Big news Smoky Mountain Detachment will host the NC State Convention Meeting in June 2006.
A Study of the Ship Store approach to have items at meetings of Marine Corps apparel for the benefit of the Detachment.

Local Events:
General Mundy, past Commandant of the Marine Corps will give a talk at the
Cashiers Library 0n Friday night July 2nd on Past, Present and Future of the Corps.
BBQ for the Detachment on July 31st Saturday

State and National Events:
Mid East Convention Meeting July 15,16,17 Wheeling, WV
National Convention Meeting August 1st—7th Irvin, TX

Committee Reports:
Toys for Tots need a building Rifle raffle for September
fair- to be determined with information from Dennis Vinson
Capacks: October 15th Carl is looking into the logistics.

New Business:
The issue of the size of the Newsletter to be used to inform the membership
and broadcast the detachments activities as well as revenue and recruitment.
Should the detachment provide a firing detail as well as the color guard
for the burial details.

Honor Guard Detail: A fairly heated discussion was engaged on the practical aspects of member availability on short notice and the fall out due to illness drawing from a base of 45 members of which half are fairly inactive. This led to a call for a "Calling Committee" to call the day of the meeting to remind and invite members to the monthly meeting.
