Hi,
My name is Randy D. Hughes. I am the Toys for Tots Coordinator for the Smoky Mountain Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Franklin, NC. Our coverage area consists of six counties. Three of these are in N.C. -Macon, Jackson and Swain, and three are in GA -Rabun, Stephens and Habersham.

This year I am running in the 26 mile Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. on the 29th of October. I am asking for pledges of any amount to raise money for the Toys for Tots Program. You will be able to track my progress on the Marine Corps Marathon website.

I am 48 years old and I have never run a race before. I got a medical discharge from the Marine Corps in 1978 due to injuries received from a bicycle wreck which left me paralyzed for several months. Also, in 1984 I was hospitalized for two months with gangrene in my right foot. So I am blessed to be able to walk much less run in a marathon.

So, for any donation from you I am grateful. Please know that you are supporting a great program where the not only are the children blessed with wonderful Christmas memories, but by helping, I know you will feel blessed too.
